If it’s your first time, here are some essential travel tips.
Before you book your trip, take some time to research your destination. Read up on the local culture and customs, and familiarize yourself with the country. This will help you feel more comfortable when you arrive and give you a better sense of what to expect from your trip.
You don’t need to pack your entire wardrobe when you travel. Choose versatile clothing that can be mixed and matched, and pack only the essentials. This will make it easier to get around and save you from having to lug around a heavy suitcase.
If you’re traveling to a different time zone, be prepared for jet lag. Drink plenty of water and get some rest on the plane. Once you arrive at your destination, try to stay awake until it’s nighttime so you can adjust to the new time zone.
Even if you don’t speak the local language, learning some basic phrases can be helpful. Greeting people in their own language is a great way to make a good first impression. And if you need directions or help, being able to communicate will make it much easier.
When you’re traveling, it’s important to stay safe. Keep your belongings close to you, and be aware of your surroundings. If you’re going to be out late at night, let someone know where you’ll be and when you’ll be back. And if you’re ever in doubt, trust your gut and follow your instinct.

When I think about Turkey I think of Istanbul, hot air balloons in Cappadocia, Turkish coffee, and tea. I imagine a big terrace where I can play Backgammon at night while drinking tea or even smoking shisha. When they invited me to join the World Tourism Forum in...
Wondering if Istanbul is safe? In 2022, Istanbul is considered to be a safe (ish) destination. That said, it hasn't always been. I visited Istanbul twice (in 2013 and in 2017) and the first time didn't go well at all. In fact, I had to leave the country because my...

I’m a travel lover. And most of the time, I’m on the road.... which means I don’t have a true base and my belongings still fit in my backpack. I’m not an avid owner. The truth is… For me, selling all my stuff a few years ago was one of the best...
