Reasons To Visit Mykonos: The Cons

Although the pros may seem to outweigh the cons, there are a couple of things to know when traveling to Mykonos, as these particular cons may influence your Greece travel plans.

Crowded And Expensive

Since Mykonos has become increasingly popular as a holiday destination, it has begun to get very crowded during peak season which runs from June to August.

It is an island with a limited amount of accommodation, therefore the prices for hotels, villas, and apartments can be quite high during these times.

If you have a lower budget, traveling during the months of April and May or September and October will mean prices are slightly more affordable as it is the shoulder season.

There may not be as many activities available and the partying scene may have died down, but you can expect to save on your budget and have fewer crowds to deal with.

Limited Green Spaces

Although the landscapes and views are incredible in Mykonos, the island in general lacks green space for you to enjoy or for families to enjoy with children.

There are limited parks on the island due to the fact that the earth here is mostly rocky and barren.

There are very few areas for walking or hiking amongst nature because of this which makes it less appealing to some travelers.
