Reasons To Visit Doha: The Cons

Although the pros may seem to outweigh the cons, there are a couple of things to know when traveling to Doha, as these particular cons may influence your Qatar travel plans.

High Cost Of Living

A drawback of visiting Doha is the fact that it is extremely expensive as there is a high cost of living in this city.

Like many other Middle Eastern cities, it is known as a very high-end destination, and you can expect to pay a premium price for your accommodation, food, and any activities you may want to do.

It can be tough to find budget options for accommodation and dining in central areas of Doha.

However, if you travel outside the city, you will find some cheaper accommodations and more local restaurants to eat at without the high price tag.

To save money, you can also use public transport to get around rather than taxis.

Extreme Heat

Something to remember when considering if Doha is the right destination for you is the fact that it experiences extreme heat at certain times of the year.

Doha has a desert climate which means that the temperatures can be quite extreme during the summer months of the year.

From June to September temperatures can, and often do, reach over 40 degrees celsius which makes it very difficult to enjoy any time outdoors.

There are also very high levels of humidity in Doha which make it even more uncomfortable in the summer.

Doha is definitely equipped to deal with the heat, with air conditioning absolutely everywhere and lots of indoor activities to do.

However, if you are someone who enjoys a beach day and some outdoor activities, be sure to plan your visit outside of the summer months.

Tourists should be careful to wear loose breathable clothing that is respectful but doesn’t cause them to overheat while visiting Qatar.

The Final Verdict: So Is Doha Worth Visiting?

So is Doha nice, and is Doha worth visiting? Absolutely!

Doha is not on many travelers’ radars. However, it definitely should be. It is a city filled with architecture, culture, history, and lots of shopping.

However, this definitely isn’t a destination for budget travelers. This is a luxury and high-end place for a vacation, and if you’re on a tight budget, it’s best to steer clear of Doha.

So is Doha worth visiting? Overall, yes, if you have a high budget for your upcoming vacation.

It is the perfect spot for a 2-3 day vacation to shop, relax and enjoy everything that Qatar has to offer.
