Koh Phangan is an island located in the Gulf of Thailand. Located between Koh Samui and Koh Tao, it’s one of the popular destinations to discover in Thailand. Known for its famous Full Moon Party, beautiful beaches and popular amongst the digital nomad community, a lot of people will head to Koh Phangan at some point during their Thailand trip.

What’s the Best Area to Stay in Koh Phangan, Thailand
Koh Phangan is not the biggest island, but still, there are a lot of different areas where you can stay. I based myself in Thong Sala area as it was closer to the pier and there were lots of restaurants and bars around.
If you’re planning on going to the Full Moon Party, then you should head to Haad Rin Beach.
If you’d like to be closer to the vegetarian/vegan restaurants, I’d recommend going to the northwest part of the island.

Na-Tub Hostel is also located in the south of Koh Phangan, between Thong Sala and Haad Rin. They offer private rooms as well as dorms. There are also an outdoor pool as well as a kitchen on site. Na-Tub is one of the best hostels in Koh Phangan.
See Sea Backpackers House
See Sea Backpackers House is located in the south of the island. There’s a cool lounge where you can relax from and it’s close to popular parties on the island. This hostel has some of the best reviews around Koh Phangan and is pretty cheap. There are also single rooms if you’d like to be in a hostel while enjoying a bit of privacy.
Phanganist Hostel
Phanganist Hostel is one of the most popular hostels in Koh Phangan and is located in the south of the island. It has a pretty modern look which makes it different from its competitors. Limelight Village
Limelight Village is located in Thong Nai Pan Yai (which is in the northeast part of Koh Phangan). You could have your own villa right on the beach. There’s also a beautiful pool on site. The villas are modern, comfortable and clean. It’s a great choice for those who want to enjoy their stay in a quieter spot without spending too much of their precious bucks.

Koh Phangan Pavilions is located in Thong Nai Pan Noi (which is in the northeast part of the island). As it’s a quieter area, it’s a good spot for those who want to relax while in Koh Phangan. You could admire the views, the gardens as well as the palm trees from the infinity pool. It’s an affordable resort totally worth checking out.
Buri Rasa Koh Phangan
Buri Rasa Koh Phangan is also located in Thong Nai Pan Noi. The rooms are modern, comfortable and you could even get a view if you decide to go for beachfront accommodation. There are a pool and a restaurant on site. You can also organize a lot of activities directly from the resort, which is great news if you want to take it easy.

Anantara Rasananda Koh Phangan is once again located in Thong Nai Pan Noi. This resort is the most luxurious ones compared to the ones mentioned above. You could have your own spacious villa with your private pool and terrace. There’s also a fitness gym and a bistro on site. It’s rated as a 5 stars resort.

Skymoon Resort is located in Haad Rin area (only 400 metres from the Full Moon Party). You could swim in the infinity pool while overlooking the sea. There are a garden and a terrace on-site as well as a breakfast buffet. This resort is modern, luxurious and absolutely beautiful. It’s one of the best hotels in Koh Phangan.
