This time I checked out Sekumpul Waterfall which is known as one of the best waterfalls in Bali. Sekumpul Waterfall, Bali, is quite impressive because it’s an 80-meters one, which makes it the highest one in Bali. You might also want to check out Munduk Waterfall or Nung Nung Waterfall.
Where is Sekumpul Waterfall?
Sekumpul Waterfalls are located in the North of Bali. It’s about a two-hour drive from Ubud and Canggu. As we were staying in Lovina, we drove about an hour to reach Sekumpul Waterfall. If you’re planning on driving your scooter to get there, get ready to have a lovely and scenic drive.

We arrived at Sekumpul Waterfalls in the afternoon which means it was a busy time. If you want to enjoy the waterfall to yourself, going earlier would be recommended. Of course, going during the dry season is a better option as it can be tricky to access waterfalls during the rainy season.
Visiting Sekumpul Waterfall Bali

Sekumpul Waterfall is obviously impressive. It’s one of the best waterfalls in Bali (but it’s not my favorite!) Banyumala Waterfalls are more impressive in my opinion.
Sekumpul Waterfall is easily accessible with tours, which means if you use the wrong entrance or parking lot, you might have to pay an expensive guide to visit the waterfalls. Honestly, you don’t need a guide to visit the waterfalls – we did it on our own. One of my friends went there before so he knew how to avoid getting ripped off by the guides – so we followed his instructions.
If you follow Sekumpul Waterfall directly on GoogleMaps, it brings you to a different spot where all the guides will be.
The best way to avoid this is to head to Warung Fiji, the map won’t show you exactly how to reach it, but at some point, you’ll see a small path on a sharp turn, and you can head there with your scooter.
Then from there, you can still ride your scooter on a very narrowed trail until you reach the final parking lot where you can find a restroom and a shop. On the way there, you’ll see different path options including waterslides, cliff jumping, etc. You simply have to follow the indications for the waterfalls.
Sekumpul Waterfalls refers to a group of waterfalls, which means that it makes sense that there are two path options when you reach the bottom of the hike. On the right side, there’s a cute waterfall, but on the left side, this is where the magic happens.

How long does it take to go down: 20-30 minutes
How long does it take to go up: 30-40 minutes depending on how fit you are!
Entrance fee: IDR 20,000 + 2,000 for the parking (you can also pay more if you want to go swim in the Holi waters afterward, which is quite refreshing after the hike up). Note, that will likely verify you have a ticket when you head to the right path option.
Tips for Driving a Scooter in Bali
We got there on our scooter. I’ve been exploring Bali by scooter for a while now, and here are a few tips when driving around Bali:
- Use headphones to follow the indications on Google Maps. This way, you won’t have to stop every 3 minutes to look at the map.
- Make sure you have good sunglasses. The sun rays can be rough in Bali. Also, it’s normal to hit bugs or to deal with a lot of dush while driving in Bali, so having sunglasses can be super handy!
- You might want to grab a mask.
- Make sure your body is sunshine ready. Put on lots of sunblocks, otherwise, you might turn into a crab.
If you don’t drive a scooter…
If you aren’t confident enough to drive a scooter, you could hire a driver for the day. You can normally find a driver in Facebook groups or using apps such as Grab or GoJek (or you could also ask the staff at your accommodation). If you want to see many waterfalls in one day, you could also book a waterfall tour!
